The Cardiomyopathy Association (CMA) is to appoint a nurse in its head office to provide more help and support to those affected by cardiomyopathy.
The charity is currently advertising in nursing journals for a cardiomyopathy specialist to join the office team based at Chesham in Bucks.
CMA chief executive Robert Hall said: "This significant development will enhance the service we provide to the rising number of people who come to us for advice and support. The nurse will take a leading role in responding to enquiries and will provide an identified link for those seeking support."
The nurse will also contribute articles for the CMA's quarterly magazine CMA News and the CMA website on different aspects of living with cardiomyopathy. He or she will be available to make planned visits and talks to the CMA's network of support groups.
Initially this well be a part time posted funded at Band 6. Funding for the role has been provided by the John Ellerman Foundation.
Robert added: "We are very grateful for the foundation for their support."
Interested applicants should contact CMA chief executive Robert Hall on 01494 791224 of email robert.hall@cardiomyopathy.org
