Craft and coffee event raises money for CMA
The family, friends and classmates of a girl who died aged 14 from the heart disease cardiomyopathy ran a craft and cakes coffee morning to raise awareness of the condition and funds for a charity that fights the disease.
Elizabeth McMillan, from Donaghadee, organised the event in support of the Graham family from Newtownards, Northern Ireland, whose daughter Rebecca died two years ago.
New Cornish cardiomyopathy support group
Two women from Cornwall who are affected by cardiomyopathy have started a support group for others who are affected. Heart disease support group set up – Truro Packet (Cornwall)
The new group had its first meeting at Chacewater Village Hall near Truro on Saturday (June 23rd) and plan to hold meetings every three months.
Cross-Britain tractor drive on memory of Laura
The family and friends of an 18-year-old girl who died from cardiomyopathy have been driving four vintage tractors across the country to raise money for the association. Laura Hannis's father Steve, grandfather Dave, and her uncles Richard Twinning and Phil Partridge were among the drivers on the 874 mile route from John O'Groats to Lands End.

Tina's campaign in Ealing newspapers
New CMA trustee Tina Amiss's story has been featured in the Ealing Times, Greenford & Northolt Leader and on the 'This is London' website. Tina, who has arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC) and an internal defibrillator, has recently joined the board of trustees and is particulary keen on campaigning for more heart checks and gene testing for families affected by cardiomyopathy.
Tina, who lives in Greenford and has two young children, has raised a lot of money for the association and she is part of the CMA's network of people who offer one-to-one support on the telephone.
