Cornwall Cardiomyopathy Support Group

The Cornwall Cardiomyopathy Support Group meets on Saturday afternoons around four times a year with social get-togethers in between.

The group was set up by three CMA members who have the condition - Emma Kemp, Sue Chapple and Eric Roberts.

Main meetings are being held at the Crossroads Travel Inn and Conference Centre, Scorrier, Redruth, TR16 5BP, and social get-togethers are held at Trickys, Tolgus Mount, Redruth, TR15 3TA.

Main meetings (at the Crossroads Travel Inn) for 2010 are: 

• Saturday, September 25th, 2pm on alternative therapies. Brief presentations and ten-minutee taster sessions for anyone wanting to have a "hands on"experience for just £5. Therapists will be Gill Middleton (reflexology), Carol Reddington (Indian head massage) and Gail O'Hagan (yoga).
• Saturday, November 20th, 2pm on irregular heart beats. Arrhythmias will be explained in patient friendly terms by arrhythmia nurse specialist Shelley Davis from Torbay in Devon
• Saturday, January 29th, 2011, 2pm. Back by popular demand, cardiac nurse counsellor Jenny Foren will be untangling some of the difficult issues and worries those with cardiomyopathy and their families face.

As well as enjoying informative talks, members also get the chance to have refreshments and chat with new friends.
