A new Cumbria & The Border Regions Cardiomyopathy Support Group has been set up by CMA members Lou Wood and Margaret Hannah.
The group is had its first meeting in July, 2008 at The Hub, Elim Community Church, 14 Spencer Street, Carlisle, CA1 1BG. Dates of future meetings are awaited.
Among the speakers was CMA medical director and chief executive Robert Hall who talked about the condition, treatments and latest research, and also the work of the Cardiomyopathy Association.
Those who have the condition are invited to come with family members and friends.
Meetings will include a varied programme including speakers, often on a medical theme related to cardiomyopathy, offer an opportunity for members to meet informally and discuss experiences with others affected by cardiomyopathy, and some social activities.
