Cycle challenge looks for more entrants

An annual cycling challenge, which takes place in Essex in October, is looking for more entrants - both fun cyclists and more serious competitors.

The Paul Davies Memorial Cycling Challenge is being held in Billericay on Sunday, October 10th. The event, which raises several thousand pounds for the CMA each year, has a choice of three distances - 25km, 60km and 115km - and starts at 8.30am from Hannakins Farm Community Centre.

Entry is £10 per person, but those taking part can also get sponsorship. All proceeds go to the CMA.

The event, in aid of Paul (pictured right) who died aged 28 from dilated cardiomyopathy in 2005, is supported by Paul's family and organised by family friend and cycle enthusiast Trevor Mills.

Each year more than 50 riders take part, but this year organisers hope to double numbers. All finishers will receive an award.

Fore more details about the event,  route, which is marshalled, entry details and sponsorship forms, call Trevor on 01277 657186 or email him
