Exeter University and football club support the CMA

Footballers from Exeter City Football Club and the city's university have raised another £3,000 for the CMA from a match.

The annual match was held at the club's football ground at St James Park in October in memory of former University of Exeter student Mike Polden.

CMA chief executive Robert Hall attended Exeter's recent home match against Carlisle United and was presented with the cheque at half time.

Pictured presenting the cheque to Robert (far right) are Exeter City's vice chairman and sporting director Julian Tagg and University of Exeter Football Club captains Matt Brooklyn and Samuel Tang.

Mike Polden was a sports science student at the university when he died suddenly from cardiomyopathy in 2001 while out running. Exeter City offered the use of its ground for the match.

Robert said: "Our thanks got to the university and the football club for their tremendous support."
