The CMA receives no Government funding for its work and relies solely on membership fees, donations and fundraising.
Every year supporters raise many thousands of pounds for us in a host of different ways - from coffee mornings to concerts, art exhibitions and black-tie balls. Our supporters also take part in daring challenges, from parachute jumps to cross country skiing, running events and mountain climbs. It does not matter how big or small your event is - every penny counts.

The CMA has guaranteed places in both races and also in the New York, Boston, Chicago and Berlin marathons, the Great South Run, the British London 10k London Triathlon and the Women's Hydro Active Challenge .
If you have family, friends or work colleagues who want to run for us or raise money in other ways, contact the CMA on 0800 0181 024 or email info@cardiomyopathy.org

What to say about the CMA
One of the most efficient means we have of promoting our charity is to ensure that we all have a standard explanation as to what the charity does. The simple need for this is evident when you think that as an individual we naturally think about the benefit which an organisation gives YOU and sometimes overlook all of the additional work.
As such if you are asked what the CMA does, have a go a using these 36 words – sometimes less is more!
The CMA provides information and support to families affected by the heart muscle disease cardiomyopathy. The charity also promotes excellence in clinical practice by providing education for doctors and nurses and funding regional cardiomyopathy clinics.
I would welcome any feedback as to the reaction you get when using it. Email chris.hirst@cardiomyopathy.org or call 01494 797199.
