The research laboratories at Imperial College, London are being opened to the public for the first time over the May Bank Holiday weekend.
Imperial is a public research university, specialising in science, engineering, medicine and business.
As part of its Imperial Festival on Friday, May 3rd, and Saturday, May 4th, visitors can have a go at using robotic surgery techniques and see demonstrations that include a pop-up hands-on surgical operating theatre.
Festival-goers can find out how some medical procedures have been revolutionised. Over 200 world-leading scientists, business brains and enthusiastic engineers will be showcasing their research and interactive exhibits in South Kensington.
The research zone marquee will have a series of talks from Imperial's top professors and lecturers, and interactive activities.
Natasha Martineau, head of research communications at Imperial, said the event would give people the opportunity to chat with researchers and take part in mind-expanding activities.
The festival is on at the college in Exhibition Road, South Kensington Campus, SW7 2AZ. Opening hours in 4pm to 10pm on Friday and noon to 6pm on Saturday. Admission is free
