The CMA is holding a cardiomyopathy information day in London on Saturday, September 25th.
The meeting, which will include a brief AGM, is being held at the Hallam Conference Centre, 44 Hallam Street, London, W1W 6JJ, from 9am to 5 pm.
The day will look at the three main types of cardiomyopathy - hypertrophic, dilated and arrhythmogenic right ventricular - new developments in treatments and research. Speakers will include top cardiomyopathy experts Professor William McKenna and Dr Perry Elliott from the Heart Hospital and stem cell therapy researcher Professor Anthony Mathur.
Genetic counsellor Genevieve Say, from Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London, will be talking about preimplantation genetic diagnosis of embryos.
Other topics being covered are new developments in cardiomyopathy and CMA chief executive Robert Hall said: "At our information days we try to help people affected by cardiomyopathy understand the condition and allow them to get back to a normal a life as possible.
" We have also included a session specifically for partners so they can share and discuss their concerns about living with a family member affected by cardiomyopathy.
