Information day in Swansea

The CMA is holding its next information day in Swansea on Saturday, June 20th.

The all-day event is being held at the Village Hotel, Langdon Road, Swansea, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

The main speaker will be Dr Perry Elliott, consultant cardiologist at the Heart Hospital in London. He will be talking about the three main types of cardiomyopathy - hypertrophic, dilated and arrhythmogenic right ventricular - and their diagnosis, latest treatments and research.

Dr Dhavendra Kumar, consultant in clinical genetics at the All Wales Medical Genetics Service, will be discussing genetics in cardiomyopathy and the CMA's chief executive Robert Hall will talk about the work of the charity and how it supports affected families.

The event (see agenda) provides an ideal opportunity to learn more about cardiomyopathy and meet others living with the condition.

Those affected by the condition and family members and friends are welcome to attend.  The day is also suitable for medical people, including heart failure nurses.

Attending the day is free of charge, but those wishing to have lunch are asked to contribute £10 towards the cost.

To register to attend, please fill in and return the registration form.  For an electronic version of the registration form or for more information, contact Sarah Dennis or call her on 01494 791224.
