Mum to hold March dinner dance for CMA
Sarah holds dinner dance in March in Leeds to support the CMA
A mum whose baby was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy in the womb is holding a dinner dance in aid of the CMA.
Sarah Lofthouse’s unborn baby Marty was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy at 23 weeks and doctors told her he was unlikely to survive until birth.
But Marty is now a happy and lively 19-month-old and doing well under the care of cardiomyopathy experts at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.
Sarah (who is pictured above with Marty) is holding the charity evening on Saturday, March 10th, in the Greystone Banqueting Suite at the LA Fitness Club in Haworth Lane, Yeadon, Leeds.
She said: “When the condition was first diagnosed our family was thrown into a world of fear and the unknown. The Cardiomyopathy Association provided essential information and support that was second to none. Now I want to thank the charity and help them to help other families like us in the future.”
She is hoping her Heartbeats Charity Evening, which includes dinner, dancing to live music, a disco, magicians, a raffle and an auction, will raise £2,000. The music is being provided by two local rock cover bands ; Northern Rokk and Vagabond, featuring Marty's Dad, Darren Bishop as the drummer.
Sarah said: “It will be an evening of fabulous entertainment and I have had substantial support from local and national companies who have donated wonderful prizes.” Tickets for the charity evening, which starts at 7.30pm, are £12 each and the venue can hold 200 people.
Prizes up for grabs on the night include a stay in a castle, signed merchandise from Premiership football clubs, designer handbags, luxury health and beauty gifts, and a mountain bike. E-tickets can be bought by contacting Sarah on 07951 110711 or emailing her at heartbeats2012@live.co.uk
