North London has its first support group thanks to CMA member Jane Barnett.
The group had its first meeting in January 2009 and now meets every two months on Saturdays at 3pm in the Day Hospital of Finchley Memorial Hospital - N12 0JE.
The date of the next meeting is Saturday, September 11th, 3pm in the Day Hospital, Finchley Memorial Hospital. The speaker will be exercise physiologist Robert Bird who will be talking about exercise for people with cardiomyopathy. Mr Bird is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and the British Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation and has a masters degree in exercise and behavioural medicine.
The support group, which meets several times a year, aims to provide affected families with more information about the condition and a chance to meet others who are affected. Family members and friends are welcome to attend and refreshments will be provided.
