Cardiomyopathy information day in Swansea

Cardiomyopathy information day in Swansea

The CMA's next cardiomyopathy information day is being held in Swansea on Saturday, June 15th.

The day will cover hypertrophic, dilated and arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy and give those who attend the chance to meet other families affected by the condition.

The main speaker is Professor Perry Elliott, professor of cardiology at the Heart Hospital in London and one of the world's leading experts in cardiomyopathy.

Other speakers include Professor Dhavendra Kumar, consultant in clinical genetics at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, and Dr Mark Anderson, consultant cardiologist from the Morriston Hospital in Swansea.

Those who attend will also be able to find out more about living with the condition and the services the CMA provides to families affected by the condition.   Patients, family members and friends are welcome.

Professor Elliott will talk about diagnosing cardiomyopathy, treatments, developments in care and latest research. There will also be question and answer sessions.

The event is being held at the Mercure Hotel, Phoenix Way, Swansea SA7 9EG from 9.30am to 5pm. The day is free to attend but those who want to have lunch are asked to pay £10 in advance to the CMA.  See here for agenda and booking form.  To book a place return the form by post, email your details to Sarah Dennis or call the Cardiomyopathy Association on 01494 791224.  Further details are also available from the CMA.
