Two choirs, who sang carols in Trafalgar Square over Christmas, have raised more than £600 for the CMA.
The Cardiomyopathy Singers (pictured above), a group of performers who include members of the Shenfield-based Howard Wallace Choral Society, raised £443 from performing in the famous London square on the Sunday before Christmas.
The Woking-based Mosiac Chamber Choir raised £164 singing on the following day.
Spokesman for the Cardiomyopathy Singers, Marion Davies, said: “We were very pleased with the money raised. For the whole hour that we sang, the crowd listening didn’t leave the steps in front of us. Everyone who took part really enjoyed it and we even got some children from the crowd on the stage with us.”
Jonathan Field from Mosaic (pictured left), who have sung carols in the square for the CMA for several years, said: “The numbers of people in the square on the Monday were down on last year but we were pleased with the collection and the opportunity to raise awareness of the CMA.”
Jonathan’s brother Stephen died from cardiomyopathy 12 years ago.
