The Yorkshire Cardiomyopathy Support Group, which meets quarterly on Tuesday evenings, was set up following the Cardiomyopathy Information Day in Leeds in 2009.
It is supported by cardiomyopathy nurse specialist Rachel Walker, who works at the South Yorkshire Cardiac Centre in Sheffield and is also a cardiomyopathy support nurse with the CMA.
Meetings usually include a speaker on a subject related to cardiomyopathy and a question and answer session.
The date of the next meeting is to be announced.
The support group is designed to help families find out more about the condition and meet others who are affected. Meetings are informal and refreshments are available. Those affected by cardiomyopathy are invited to come with family members or friends.
