Winter fundraising ideas

The leaves are falling and there's a frost in the air - a perfect time to fundraise! To help you get started we've got some seasonal suggestions just right for winter.

1. Pumpkin carving

Have a pumpkin carving competition, with a small prize for the winner! Pay to enter and donate the fees, along with asking for donations on the day. Great fun for the whole family!

2. Raffle a day off work

If you're doing some workplace fundraising this Christmas, why not auction or raffle off an extra day's holiday? This is a really great fundraiser and very simple to do, and can really make the Christmas party extra special.

3. Gift wrapping

Offer a gift wrap service for a donation. You could put up posters and offer it to colleagues at work, or you could ask local shops or shopping centres if you could run a stand for a day or two. Local shops will often donate the supplies in return for some publicity too.

4. Rake it up

With the leaves falling why not offer to rake them up and remove them for neighbours in return for a donation. This is a great fundraiser as people often don't have time to do it themselves and are glad to make a donation to tidy them up!

5. Carol Singing

A traditional and favourite fundraiser, you could try and get permission to perform at a local shopping centre or high street. Be aware you'll need to apply early as there's stiff competition!

6. Santa Dash

Take part in a Santa Dash for #teamcardio. You can run, walk or jog 5k or 10k, and you'll even get a free Santa suit to wear on the day! Find out more

7. Christmas Bake Off

Cookies, cakes, mince pies.... whatever you decide to bake and sell they're sure to be popular. A classic fundraiser, a cake sale is a fantastic way to raise funds. Whether you're selling treats to collegues at work or you are having a cake sale at home this is a firm festive favourite. Don't forget to save some for Santa!
