Preventing sudden death in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

A new worldwide study has validated the ESC recommendations of predicting and preventing sudden cardiac death in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM).

Wearable cardioverter defibrillator does not reduce sudden death mortality

15th March 2018

Trials of the Vest Prevention of Early Sudden Death Trial (VEST) found that the device reduced the overall risk of early death for heart attack survivors – but not the risk of sudden cardiac death.
