CMA Partners

The Oxford University Air Squadron has supported the Cardiomyopathy Association, as their chosen charity since 2007. The squadron provides Oxford, Oxford Brookes and Reading university students preparation for careers in the RAF. The squadron decided to support the CMA following the sudden death of the sister of one of their squadron's cadets.

Squadron members have been very active in raising funds through various activities, including five members running in the 2008 Great North Run, and rasied several thousand pounds for the CMA. They have also been very active in help to raise awareness of cardiomyopathy and the work of the CMA.

The Cardiomyopathy Association in partnership with the British Heart Foundation has updated the CMA's bookets on each of the main types of cardiomyopathy - hypertrophic, dilated and arrhythmogenic right ventricular.

The Tunbridge Wells Harriers chose the Cardiomyopathy Association as one of the two main benefiting charities for the annual Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon. This is an extremely popular and high quality run in the UK running events calendar, attracting over 2,000 entrants. In recognition of the hard work of the race organisers, led by Sarah Russell, the run received the prestigous 'Most Improved Event' award at the 2009 Runners World 'Heroes of Running' Awards. As well as raising crucial funds for the CMA the harriers raise public awareness of cardiomyopathy.
