The venue was filled with 200 people, including attendees, speakers, staff and supporters. Many attendees are living with cardiomyopathy, either having it themselves or supporting someone with the condition.

“The conference gives me an annual fix of reassurance, hope and optimism.”

Dr Bradlow talks about hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Presentations included on the different types of cardiomyopathy, treatment options, genetics, lifestyle issues and the emotional impact of the condition. Our speakers included Professors Perry Elliott and Ruth Newbury-Ecob, and Drs Gerry Carr-White, William Bradlow and Antonis Pantazis.

“Listening to Dr Carr-White made me feel more positive.”
Conference attendee.

98% of people who gave us feedback said that they felt that they knew more about the condition due to attending the conference. 77% of those supporting someone with the condition felt more confident to support them due to attending.

“More knowledge now, helps me make decisions and ask for help when required.”
Conference attendee.

Attendees got to meet staff, support group leaders and members of our children, young people and and younger adults (CYP&YA) panel.

Our team were on hand to meet people throughout the day, as well as helping people to support cardiomyopathy UK by buying merchandise!
