Place still available at cardiomyopathy information day in Cardiff

Places are still available at our cardiomyopathy information day near Cardiff next Saturday.

The event, on Saturday, 28 November is being put on by Cardiomyopathy UK to help people find out more about the disease, advances in care, latest research and to meet others who are affected.  

The information day, led by experts in cardiomyopathy care, includes sessions on dilated cardiomyopathy, hypertrophic and arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy, but people with other types of the disease are also welcome and their questions will be answered.

The main speaker is Dr Sam Mohiddin, consultant cardiologist at Barts Heart Centre in London, who will talk about the different types of cardiomyopathy and latest treatments.

Professor Dhavendra Kumar, consultant in clinical genetics at Cardiff University School of Medicine, will talk about developments in cardiomyopathy genetics, and arrhythmia nurse specialist Wendy Churchouse, from Swansea’s Morriston Hospital, will talk about living with cardiomyopathy and what helps.

Cardiomyopathy UK medical director Robert Hall will talk about how the charity’s services help families affected by the disease.

The information day, at the Holiday Inn Holiday Inn M4 Jct 32, Merthyr Road, Tongwynlais, Cardiff CF15 7LH, will be held from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

People affected by cardiomyopathy, their family members and friends are all welcome.

Attendance is free, but those who wish to join us for lunch are asked to pay £10 each towards the cost.
