Find out more about health research at open day on Monday

4th February 2016

A leading health research centre in London is opening its doors to the public next Monday to celebrate ten years of its cutting-edge work and get more views on its research.

Those who attend will get the opportunity to hear from researchers and learn more about taking part in research.

The Biomedical Research Centre at Imperial College has been funded for ten years by the National Institute for Health Research to improve the health and the wealth of the nation through research in many disease areas.

Patients, researchers, healthcare workers and members of the public are being invited to find out more about the centre’s clinical and health research at a free event at the W12 Conference Centre at Hammersmith Hospital on Monday 8 February.

A spokesman said: “We want to hear the patient voice in planning medicine research, and want to use this opportunity to discuss with patients and the public some of the innovative new technologies and initiatives that are on the horizon, and listen to their views on how these may be best adopted.

“Whatever your background or interest, our interactive exhibits, short talks, facility tours and round table discussions will help answer your questions. This is your opportunity to not only understand why health research matters but also help shape clinical research in the future."
