More than a bob for charities

7th May 2015

Supporter Christine Hilliard has given up her lovely locks to raise money for Cardiomyopathy UK and provide hair for children having cancer treatment.

Christine, who has two sons affected by cardiomyopathy, raised £300 for Cardiomyopathy UK and donated 20 inches of her silky locks to The Little Princess charity which provides wigs for children having chemotherapy.

Her sons Fabian, aged 12, and Jayden, aged 10, are affected by hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

She said: “I needed a trim and then I thought I could raise money if I had more cut off. My friends know I hate short hair. I chose Cardiomyopathy UK to benefit from sponsorship because of my boys.

“Then I thought if I had enough cut off I could donate it to a charity that could put it to good use.”

Her hair was cut into a bob at Weston College’s beauty centre.
