Staying in touch with Cardiomyopathy UK

18th September 2017

Soon we'll only be able to keep in touch with you if you tell us that you want to hear from us.

New data protection rules coming into force in May 2018 mean that unless our supporters expressly tell us that they want to hear from us, we will be unable to send them any information. The new rules mean that even if we have been in touch with a supporter for a long time - years even - we have to have new consent that they are happy to hear from us, by either email, post or both.

Without this consent we will have to stop communicating with supporters after the end of May 2018, including sending our free My Life magazine.

Chief Executive Joel Rose says: "Cardiomyopathy UK has sent a mailing to all of the supporters that need to 'opt in' and we hope that they will fill in the details needed as soon as possible. We very much want to keep supporting as many people as we can, and our communications are a key way to do this."

If you have any questions about the new data protection rules, known as the General Data Protection Rules (GDPR) please visit this page on our website, or please don't hesitate to call us on 01494 791224.
