Support group joins our national September Stroll

2nd July 2015

Our Cheshire and Merseyside Support Group is stepping out in our national walking event – the September Stroll.

Julie and Jenny Rees, who run the support group, are inviting group members and others to join their Lake District stroll on Saturday, 12 September.

The family will be taking a 3k circular route at the stunning beauty spot of Tarn Hows, but there is also a 0.75k shorter walk for those in wheelchairs and people who find walking more difficult.

The September Stoll is one of Cardiomyopathy UK’s national fundraising campaigns to help us support families affected by cardiomyopathy.

Julie, who runs the support group with daughter Jenny said: “We have invited all members of our support group as well as family and friends so it could end up being a large group.  Others are also welcome to join us.

“We like the idea of a stroll as it’s a great way to socialise and get to know our members a little better as well as being an opportunity to raise money for Cardiomyopathy UK.”

The group will be meeting at 10.30am at the main car park – grid ref SD326996 and having a picnic lunch. Those doing the shorter route will be leaving from grid ref 330994.

Julie added: “Tarn Hows in the Lake District is a favourite walk of ours and we have done a sponsored walk there before. We know it to be an easy walk with good pathways for prams or wheelchairs and it is a beautiful spot.”

Those taking part can get sponsorship or make a donation to Cardiomyopathy UK.
