Children's Cardiomyopathy Nurse Appeal

Three-year-old Marty Bishop was diagnosed with the heart muscle disease cardiomyopathy before he was born. The condition is the biggest medical cause of sudden death in young people but, with proper treatment, most can live a full life.

The Cardiomyopathy Association helps families with expert information and support and thanks to this help, Marty is enjoying life much like any other boy.

We want every child affected by heart muscle disease to receive the best treatment, information and support.

We urgently need a new specialist childrenā€™s nurse to provide one-to-one support to parents of children affected by cardiomyopathy. If we can raise Ā£5000 in the next 5 weeks, we will hit our target of Ā£10,000 which will fund a nurse to provide 1:1 support by telephone and email to parents of children affected by cardiomyopathy. They will also develop specialist resources for teachers and those who work with young people and ensure the needs of children are represented in our work with policymakers and healthcare organisations.

Please help children like Marty with a gift today.

Ā£10 could provide a parent or carer with 20 minutes of one-to-one nurse time on the telephone

Ā£25 could provide a hospital with our childrenā€™s cardiomyopathy information booklets

Ā£50 could fund a nurse visit to a childā€™s school to help staff learn more about the disease and how to give the right support
