How the party started

The Great Pancake Party was the brainchild of one of our supporters, Lynn Hedgecoe.  Lynn (pictured above) organised her own Pancake Party with her family as a fundraiser to support our work, and it was so popular that she approached us with the idea. Needless to say we loved the idea, and the rest is history!

Now Cardiomyopathy UK officially becomes Pancake HQ every Pancake Week, and we have pancakes on the brain year round. To date the Great Pancake Party has helped raise over £30,000 for our work since it began in 2013 and continues to be a flagship fundraiser for us; helping us save lives and support families all over the UK. None of these fantastic achievements would be possible without Lynn, and we can’t thank her and her family enough.

Lynn says "I was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy five years ago. At the time, I was scared and felt very uncertain about the future. Luckily, a medical student helped me to find the Cardiomyopathy UK website and the support I have received since has been invaluable. It’s fair to say it changed my life”.
