Give as you earn (payroll giving)

Give As You Earn (GAYE), or payroll giving, is an easy way to donate if you are an employee. The scheme enables employees to give in support of everyone affected by cardiomyopathy straight from their gross salary (before tax is deducted), giving immediate tax relief of up to 40 per cent on all donations.

Payroll Giving tax relief

Your donation is taken from your pre-tax salary, meaning that part of your donation comes from money that would have otherwise gone to HMRC. For example, if you pay tax at the basic rate of 20 per cent and authorise a monthly donation of £10, the actual cost of the donation to you is £8 as the other £2 comes from the tax you would have paid.

Why is Payroll Giving important?

The real benefit of Payroll Giving for Cardomyopathy UK is that it forms a sustained, regular and reliable income stream. But it’s not just us that benefits; you also get immediate tax relief and your employer can get a Quality Mark award. So, everyone wins!

And most importantly, your support could make a big difference for those affected by cardiomyopathy.

To give to charity in this way, your employer must offer a Payroll Giving scheme.

If you would like to set up a gift through your payroll, you can speak with your HR department at work or contact fundraising@cardiomyopathy.org or call 01494 791224.
