Tina takes on Mongolian trek challenge for Cardiomyopathy UK

Cardiomyopathy UK Trustee, Tina Amiss found us when she went into sudden cardiac arrest back in 1994. Out of the blue, her world turned upside down as she learnt she had cardiomyopathy and convinced herself her life was over.

With the help of her family she sought support and information from Cardiomyopathy UK and now works as a Trustee to support our work.

She is taking on an intensive five day trek with her sister in law Liz across the Mongolian wilderness on horseback. Tina will be navigating through hills, valleys, latch forests, wildlife, desert and sleeping under stars to raise vital funds for our services to help others with cardiomyopathy.

Tina said “Through all of the support that I’ve received from many nurses over the years I now have the knowledge needed in order to actively participate in my care. I am able to self-manage and am in control and able to cope most of the time. I have a good quality of life and am very grateful to have received, and continue to receive, such excellent nursing care from the charity.”
