Jessica

Change Maker

Jessica is 38, married and has 4 children that keep her busy, as well as working part time. She was diagnosed with arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy following on from 9 years of investigations and interventions including a couple of ablations, SICD insertion, defib shock and now transvenous ICD. Her mum has also subsequently been diagnosed and had an ICD placed and her children have annual screening. Prior to Jessica’s’ diagnosis she was a club runner with a passion for cross country running. She has sadly had to give this up and instead can be found doing yoga or pilates to get her exercise fix. Jessica wanted to get involved with Cardiomyopathy UK as she has found the needs of younger people and those with young families have been somewhat overlooked. She also wanted to give something back to a charity that offered a lot of information and support when she was diagnosed. Jessica is excited to meet everyone and join the new change making team to influence care for people living with cardiomyopathy.
