Cardiomyopathy UK events are one of the key ways we bring our community together. They're a chance to hear from experts, talk to our nurses, and meet other people who understand what living with cardiomyopathy is like.
We want as many people affected by cardiomyopathy as possible to have the opportunity to come to one of our events, so we've been looking at how and where we run them. Here's what's changing.
A Patient Conference every two years
Following the success of our Patient Conferences in London in 2024 and 2026, we plan to continue that pattern and hold a Patient Conference in the capital every two years.
The next Patient Conference will take place in March 2028.
Two Regional Roadshows in the years between
In the years between our Patient Conferences, we'll aim to run two Regional Roadshows. During Patient Conference years, we'll aim to run one Regional Roadshow,
We know that, for many people, a trip to the capital is too far, too expensive or too tiring – especially if you're managing a heart condition. Taking our events to other parts of the UK means more of our community has the opportunity to join us.
We held our first sell-out Regional Roadshow in Leeds in 2025. We're really looking forward to holding our next in Brighton on Saturday 17th October 2026. Expect talks on family screening, devices and remote monitoring, the emotional impact of cardiomyopathy, and the latest research. Our nurse team will have a stand, with a quiet room if you'd like to talk privately, and you can visit our research and photography exhibitions. Lunch and refreshments are provided.

Your questions answered
What's the difference between a Patient Conference and a Regional Roadshow?
Our Patient Conference is our largest event. Around 350 people come together for a full day in London, with several talks running at the same time in different rooms and a wide range of exhibitors and expert speakers.
Regional Roadshows are smaller events held in different parts of the UK. With between 50-100 people in attendance, they feel more relaxed and personal, and it's easier to chat with speakers, our nurses and others living with cardiomyopathy.
Where will the Regional Roadshows be happening?
Our next Regional Roadshow is in Brighton on Saturday 17th October 2026. It's at The Clarendon Centre, about four minutes' walk from Brighton Station. There's no parking at the venue, but there are car parks at Brighton Station and London Road.
We plan to take future Regional Roadshows to other parts of the UK. We'll announce new dates and places as soon as they're confirmed.
Can I go to more than one?
Yes! The Regional Roadshows are open to anyone affected by cardiomyopathy, including family, friends and carers, and you're welcome to attend as many as you like. Each has its own programme and line-up of speakers – although some topics may come up more than once.

What if none of them are near me?
We started holding Regional Roadshows because many members of our community told us it was hard to get to our conferences in London, so we'll keep moving them around the UK. If you'd like a Regional Roadshow near you, please email events@cardiomyopathy.org – it helps us decide where to go next.
