Pete joined the Board as a Trustee in January 2016, following the diagnosis of his daughter Esme with cardiomyopathy. He was the charity’s Treasurer from 2019 to 2023, our Vice-Chair from February 2026, and our Chair from September 2026. He is passionate about ensuring that children and families affected by the condition have access to the best care and support, and that by raising awareness amongst policymakers, clinicians and the public, the charity can promote high-quality care and investment in the development of new treatment options for all those living with cardiomyopathy.
Pete is the Director of Finance at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), an arm’s length body of the Department of Health and Social Care. He has previously held similar roles at NHS England, NHS Digital and other NHS organisations.
