Martin shares why his late Uncle Ron has left Cardiomyopathy UK a gift in his will and the importance of legacies.
Cardiomyopathy has had a significant impact on Martin’s family, and we were honoured that his uncle, Ron, left a gift in his will to Cardiomyopathy UK. Ron’s wish was that his legacy would have an impact on helping to find a cure for the condition.
Ron led a full and active life and he and his wife Wendy enjoyed travelling and being part of their community. Ron lost his brother, Bernard, to cardiomyopathy in 1989 and later discovered that he, too, had a form of the condition. It was the loss of his brother that led Ron and Wendy to become supporters of Cardiomyopathy UK so that they could help other people living with the condition.
During his retirement, Ron continued to his dedication to his community and gave considerable time to helping others through his involvement with fundraising activities for various charities.
Ron’s kindness and generosity in leaving a gift to Cardiomyopathy UK will help us to further our vision that everyone living with the condition can, like Ron, lead a long and fulfilling life.
